The 26-year-old joins the big club for the third time this season and has pitched to a 5.71 earned run average without recording a decision in 17 relief outings.

Over 28 career appearances out of the bullpen, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 6.30 ERA in 30 innings.

In a related move, the club demoted pitcher Mitch Atkins to Iowa. In three relief appearances in 2010, the righty has no record to go with a 6.43 ERA.
