01/28/2007 - Pullman, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Aaron Brooks had 31 points and eight rebounds as seventh-ranked Oregon rallied late to force overtime and then held on to beat 20th-ranked Washington State, 77-74, in a wild Pac-10 clash.

Brooks, the league's leading scorer, was suspended for disciplinary reasons when the Ducks fell to Washington, 89-77, on Thursday.

Tajuan Porter scored 17 points and Malike Hairston chipped in with 13 for the Ducks (19-2, 7-2), who extended their winning streak over Washington State to 12 games. Maarty Leunen contributed 10 rebounds and hit two huge free throws with .5 seconds remaining in the game to force overtime.

Derrick Low went 9-of-16 from three-point range and finished with a career- high 37 points for the Cougars (17-4, 6-3) and almost single-handedly sent the game into a second overtime. Kyle Weaver and Chris Matthews each had 13 points for Washington State, which saw its two-game winning streak come to a end.

Trailing 60-51 with four minutes left in the game, Oregon staged a furious rally to force overtime. Brooks hit two free throws to make it a seven-point game and after an Ivory Clark free throw, Bryce Taylor's three-point play brought the Ducks within 61-56 with just over three minutes remaining.

Brooks and Low then traded threes before Porter's trey brought Oregon within 64-62 with 1:05 left in the second half. After a Robbie Cowgill missed basket, the Ducks had one last chance to tie the game. Taylor's jumper was short, but Leunen grabbed the rebound and was fouled with .5 seconds remaining. Leunen calmly sank both free throws -- his first points of the game -- to force overtime, where Oregon took over.

Brooks opened the extra period with a layup, Leunen and Porter hit back-to- back threes, and Brooks added another basket to hand Oregon a quick 74-64 lead. Low answered with four straight free throws and after Chamberlain Oguchi's layup for the Ducks, Low drained a three to bring the Ducks within 76-71 with 32 seconds remaining.

Brooks then hit 1-of-2 free throws before Low hit yet another three to make it 77-74 with 18 seconds left on the clock.

Leunen had an open look at a layup to ice the game, but Low came out of nowhere to steal the ball. Porter and Low both missed on game-tying threes, with the ball sailing out-of-bounds on Low's attempt. Low, though, forced a jump ball on the ensuing inbounds pass with possession belonging to Washington State with 3.1 ticks remaining. However, Low failed to hit on his final three- point attempt as Oregon survived the wild finish.

After Taylor tied the game at 25-25 with just over three minutes left in the first half, Low hit straight threes and a steal led to Matthews' uncontested layup that gave Washington State a 33-27 lead at the break.

A Brooks' three brought Oregon within 42-40 just under eight minutes into the second half and the Cougars held on to the lead before the Ducks rallied to tie the game.
